Singer/songwriter Roger Manning emerged from the New York acoustic "anti-folk" movement of the late 1980s, signalling his independence from the traditional folk community by signing with the legendary punk label SST to issue his 1988 self-titled debut LP, a collection of articulate, politically-charged songs performed with surprising attitude and edge.
