“Infectious” best describes Seth Yacovone Band’s brand of original music. Based out of Burlington, Vermont, Seth Yacovone Band (yack-oh-voh-knee) has been performing professionally for almost five years now. They have created their own unique sound by blending such influences as BB King, Gov’t Mule, Tom Waits and Allman Bros with their own unique style of creative songwriting, improvisation and memorable live shows.
The music has been known to take the audience for a ride and return them back safely to where the song began. It leaves crowds begging for more!
Seth Yacovone Band has certainly had their share of opportunities along the way. This past December, they were invited to open for BB King in Burlington, VT and Lowell, MA. This was the 4th and 5th time, respectively, that the band has opened for BB King in the past few years. In addition, they have shared the stage with such musical greats as Johnny Winter, Govt Mule, Original P (of P-funk fame), The Radiators, Koko Taylor, Roomful of Blues, Derek Trucks Band, Commander Cody and more! In October 2000, they opened for the renowned Ray Charles at Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Many of you might remember when Seth got his chance to perform with PHISH as their guest at the Worcester Centrum (Nov 98), performing one of his original tunes with Phish backing him up…… and the momentum hasn’t slowed a bit!
Seth Yacovone Band includes Seth Yacovone on guitar and lead vocals, Tom Coggio on bass and Steve Hadeka on drums. In January, they parted ways with Luke Boggess (harmonica) only to take a new direction as a power trio. SYB has released 3 independent CD’s: “Bobfred’s Bathtub Minstrel”, which has been described as a “cure for boredom”; it is blues with an added sense of lyrical humor. Their second independent release, “Yessir!”, is a live recording from Club Metronome in Burlington, Vermont and was made for fans who demanded LIVE tunes to take home with them! The band’s funk and improvisational skills are highlighted on “Yessir!”.
Their latest CD, “Dannemora”, was released in July 2000 and is available at stores around New England, from
www.HomeGrownMusic.net,
www.bigheavyworld.com as well as from the band’s own website at

Seth Yacovone Band will be performing a 3-week tour in in Italy during October 2001 due to a series of CD reviews and interviews in “Buscadero”, Italy’s premier music magazine. You can also find a feature article about Seth Yacovone Band in “RELIX Music Magazine” in the February 2001 issue. A new CD is being recorded in MAY 2001 at Trey Anastasio’s (PHISH) recording studio. SYB hopes to have the new CD ready for their Italy tour in October.
